Hi. Does anyone know if the Troc has fan jet washers? If so you shouldn't really buy the cheaper screen wash because it can block the pipes. So just wanted to check before buying. Thanks

Do you mean that the spray comes out looking like a fan? If so, yes on my 2.0 TSi.

Any particular screen washes you recommend? I always thought it was just marketing and they were more or less the same!

I just use the 4L bottle of anti-freeze which you mix up with water from Halfords. Haven't had any issues on any of my Audi's using it, so hopefully not on the T-ROC.

I had an issue with my previous car (Ford Focus) clogging the filter at the bottom of the washer bottle. The dealer told me I hadn't put enough screen wash in to kill the bacteria and they charged me £60 to fix it. Then a couple of months later it clogged again, when I went back they told me I had clearly been using the wrong screen wash (it was from ASDA!) and it had solidified at the bottom of the bottle. They wanted to charge me to fix it again, I had a bit of a rant in front of the other customers at the service desk and they agreed to fix it for free.

Then one year later the same thing happened again, I decided to go to a local garage as he said he'd fixed that problem plenty of times... when I got to the car there was a very strong smell of bleach! He assured me he had taken the whole system apart and given it a good cleaning and he had only put a little bit of bleach in to make sure that all the gunk had been killed. He charged me £50 and I went away from there scared to use the washer as I didn't want any bleach on my paintwork!

Funny that with all my previous cars I never had a problem with the washers clogging that couldn't be fixed with a pin! I guess that's progress for you!

Safe to say I'll be careful which screen wash I put in my T ROC!

I had issues some years back with golf with fan jets. After that always use vw SCREENWASH from dealers, bit more expensive but works well, change dilution in winter always seems to do the job well

Have you not got your car?
Yes, i have ,y car but I don't know if they use fan jets in them. I am taking my car into VW Friday, I will pick up some VAG screenwash while I am there. Better to be safe than sorry since if anything happens to the pipes they will blame the screen wash.
