Further to above, looking at 'it', it looks a cheap component compared to ones I've previously fitted...

Re: Engine revs feedback felt through clutch

My understanding is that VW cars with a manual gearbox use a cable operated clutch rather than hydraulic. This is consistent with the owner's handbook which contains no mention of checking and topping up clutch fluid level. I'd imagine a cable might result in more 'feel' (ie vibration) through the ...

Re: 1litre 115 ps engine oil change

Hi I think you will find that VW & Audi mostly suck the oil out these days, as they don’t want to waste time taking the under trays off and they find it quicker. I would tend to suggest - rubbish. Unless you have proof of this proceedure. Looking at my undertray bolts after a service, it has been r...

Re: 1litre 115 ps engine oil change

Years (and years and years...) ago, I remember Kwikfit (or similar) doing it that way. 'Far Kwiker' they said. However, it soon stopped as it didn't clear out the crud in bottom of sump and also, most cars had/have magnetic sump plugs to catch the metallic sludge which need cleaning or replacing at ...

Re: Problems with new Passat

Seems strange that while we are told that DAB is going to be the way forward and eventualy FM is to be turned off - VW decides to only put DAB on top models. Do they know something that we don't? Granted they chopped a lot out of the Passat when 'refreshing' last year, which is why I'm keeping mine ...

Look great.
But will they be covered by warranty or be classed under consumable bulbs? I would think very expensive if they break.

Re: Bird excrement

Bit late for an air rifle I'm afraid. Plus if it was something like a condor, the damage could have been greater. Not know what colour you've got but you may be luck with it just being polished. This is what I do: Clean with a strongish washing up liquid solution with warm water on a soft cloth, rin...

Re: New Volkswagen Nivus

Doesn't look too bad, but depends on size. If it's small(ish) then rear headroom/boot may be an issue.
