Re: Delayed build week (major)

That must be a record  have you called your dealer to ask what the frick is going on? They recently discontinued the orange inserts, so I got a call to see if I was ok with that. I then got told by VW that my car was status 0 as a result, so presumably the new stage 2 text is progress of some ...

Re: Car net

I still don't know what this Car Net thing is but does it work with a (USB-connected) mobile phone (with data plan)? NO ! If you want to use your phone to provide the data connection for Car Net, then you have to set your phone as a wi-fi hotspot. That normally disables any other wi-fi connection y...

Re: Central Air Vents

Some manufacturers have already introduced cars without any physical buttons, knobs or switches and everything is controlled via the touch screen menus. I think the new Golf is also heading in this direction, so it is only a matter of time till this is forced on everyone. Long gone are the days when...

Re: Leafs in engine bay

This happened on my previous Golf too, but so far I think the T-Roc is slightly better but the leaves are only starting to come down now. There is a gap between the bonnet and the plastic that runs across the back of the engine compartment, and that is how the leaves get in, but my guess is that the...

Re: Faulty Automatic Emergency Breaking

I believe you can however if you have insurance that you have stated you have the ABS in your car - if you turn it off it voids your insurance. Also I have been notified if I’m in an accident and it was turned off; it could also negatively effect the outcome. I don't think this is anything to do wi...

Re: 1.5 EVO - 1st gear kangaroo

I'm still waiting for my rejection to be finalised, but I'm getting there slowly but surely. I was offered an alternative Roc, but as I don't want a diesel and the 1.0 didn't feel spritely enough I had to say no, and the other half ruled out a T-Cross so we'll have to look elsewhere. Tonight I expe...

Re: Central Air Vents

Sorry to all those who have already replied, but has no one ever tried just using the control dials and buttons rather than messing with touch screen icons. Those with dual-zone climate control should hopefully recognise the layout, but I've included a screen grab for those that might have missed th...

Re: Speeding up on its own??!!

What were the weather conditions, and was the front badge clear of any debris/dirt such as perhaps a bit of leaf stuck on it. The radar sensor for the ACC is in the badge, and VW advise that heavy rain or snow/ice can impair the sensor.

Re: Faulty Automatic Emergency Breaking

I had it happen once when I was stopping at around 20 mph I was getting close to car in front as I usually do trying to fit into passing box and it decided to emergency brake before I got close enough. Is it possible ot be turned off? I believe you can however if you have insurance that you have st...
