Re: 1.5 EVO - 1st gear kangaroo

You need to read up on your consumer rights. If I recall correctly, in the first month of ownership you have the right to reject the car with a full refund and at no cost to you. After the first month you still have the same rejection right, but now you have to give the dealer/manufacturer the chanc...

Re: 1.5 EVO - 1st gear kangaroo

Hi, The 1.5 TSi uses a miller cycle motor, the engine was designed to provide the economy and torque of a Diesel engine from a petrol engine. Simply put, on the combustion stroke, the inlet valve is opened to increase capacity, but opening the inlet value would cause loss of compression and car woul...

Re: 1.5 EVO - 1st gear kangaroo

Hi,

The car does have traction control and I’m 100% certain that TC is not causing the kangarooing issue. TC will only intervene if the wheels loose traction, which is not the case in this instance.

Re: 1.5 EVO - 1st gear kangaroo

I'd be very interested to see what they say about the software update. My understanding of the problem is that a solution is beyond a simple software fix and more mechanical. The 1.5 TSI uses a miller cycle engine, which basically means the inlet valves are opened on the combustion stroke. Mechanica...

Re: 1.5 EVO - 1st gear kangaroo

Based on the feedback here, it does seem to impact some cars more than others, mine was awful. According to my dealer, the factory have acknowledged there is a known problem and are working on a solution. How long that will take is anybody's guess. BTW, I got ride of the T-Roc, it was only 3 weeks o...

Re: 1.5 EVO - 1st gear kangaroo

I hope that VW resolve the problem and you as well as all the other 1.5 manual T-Roc owners have many miles of trouble free motoring. I did what I felt was right for me by returning the car. I would suggest you persist with your demands for a car that is fit for purpose. You do have consumer rights ...

Re: 1.5 EVO - 1st gear kangaroo

No, they couldn’t fix it. VW Germany acknowledged there is a problem and as of last week there was no fix. They are apparently working a solution, but no time scales were provided. I returned my 3 week old car.
