Boot floor

Yesterday I finally received my space saver spare wheel and with it the adjustable flooring. Made a big difference to the boot capacity. Very pleased. Thank you to my dealer and in particular my sales advisor. Really good job. Thanks also to "Greetings" for the advice.

Geofflad: it is the same in terms of size but it is a steel wheel rather than an Alloy wheel which has (as far as I'm aware) been the same with every car I've owned. Speed limited to 50mph. So purely a "get you to the nearest garage" option. Think I'd prefer the space saver (same rating-same usage) and a bigger boot!
Thank you for your thoughts by the way.

So CJD states to approach VW UK but Tomahawk says his dealer paid for the conversion. I have the full size (boot limiting) spare wheel which is speed limited. As you get the same speed rating with the space-saver it makes sense to get that one and to increase boot capacity, BUT, who is best to approach: VW or dealer?

1.5 Tsi S-El in silver white. Full size spare.

I also visited my dealer yesterday and this was the 3rd issue (all minor) which I brought up. The immediate problem is because the car is such a new model, nobody really knows it inside out! I pointed out the full size spare wheel and how it would inhibit lowering the boot floor and I also pointed out the polystyrene supports that could be "cut away". He seemed to agree with this and could foresee no issues for the future or indeed how it could affect the warranty. May pluck up the courage and take a Stanley knife to it over the weekend. Will keep you posted.
