Hi guys,

Just curious of the wait times people have had from port to the dealer? I'm now on day 14 and still no sign of the car. Dealer said this part is out of their hands and they don't know a date of arrival until the car is loaded.

Thanks

Mine was about a month getting from in transit to delivery. I think it sat about at Setubal for a few days, then spent a few days en route as the ship went via Sheerness and Grimsby before getting to Port of Tyne. Then about 2 weeks to delivery to me, after I chased up the dealer after about 12 days. I think it can vary a few days either way, particularly depending on how long it waits for the right ship at Setubal.

Thanks, might chase up my dealer again. Mine was on the ship that went straight to the UK! They tried to tell me it took a week to unload but the ship went to a different port the next day. All seems a bit strange.

Ordered March 24th, took delivery June 11th.
It went to "In transit" (i.e. left factory) on May 22nd, so factory to me took about 2 1/2 weeks. I was lucky, the car transporter (Pegasus Ace) arrived in Portugal only 2 days after mine was built and my dealer is 30 miles from Port of Tyne, so no real delay there either. Ship docked 1st June, car was ready to collect by 11th, so about 10 days, similar to Angus. Duke's car was on the same ship and I think he got his the day after me (12th).

Thanks for this. My car was on that exact ship at that date too. It got off at Grimsby the day before. I have been told that it took 8 days to unload and it's still not arrived at my dealer so something doesn't add up here!

Too right, I'd definitely be in touch. Tell them you know two people who's cars came off later at Port of Tyne and they both have theirs!
BTW, VW told me the car was at the dealer, and the dealer was saying "we're expecting it any time". It was only after I said "VW say you have it..." that they jumped. No idea what they were holding out for, unless they were struggling for staff to do the dealer prep.

BTW, Grimsby is fricking huge, way bigger than Port of Tyne, there COULD be a logistics issue with so many cars at one port. Still been ample time though, I'd say.
