Just back from a three week break in Northern Spain and Central France in the T Roc and while she was a joy to drive with excellent fuel consumption, there were some real niggles that shouldn't be there on a 6 month old car with 5000 kms on the clock.

The speed sign recognition thingie got confused very easily, constantly getting the actual speed limit wrong, kept telling me that compass was unavailable for some reason and wouldn't recognise my phone half the time! The car has a factory fit towbar and the max speed is set to 80 km/hr but its legal to tow at 120 km/hr in France if the trailer is CE marked for it. Anyone know how to get this changed?

Then there were the wipers dragging across the screen and rear window ..... God that was annoying!

Im sure the electronic issues can be sorted at the dealer with a laptop plug in but has anyone managed to get new wiper blades on warranty?

There are heaps of treads on the poor quality new wiper blades coming out of Volkswagen, in short it is not worth the trouble going for dealer replacements.
Heaps of recommendations of better quality after market ones if you do a quick search. Bosch appear the choice leader at this stage.

For changing the speeding warning.

If your settings are in mph, then use your limits in mph.

Not on warranty no, I paid to have the wiper blades replaced at the 1 year service because I agree, the dragging sound is infuriating! Never known wiper blades to give up the ghost so quickly! Regarding you phone connectivity, is this through CarPlay? I had this issue constantly and then saw someone had advised connecting to the car’s WiFi. Not sure if it’s on here or another forum but Google it and see if you can find it. It drops off every so often but has improved significantly since doing this! :)

I rang the dealer yesterday and booked the car in to sort all the little issues. I specifically asked about the wiper issue and was told that VW recommend that the blades are changed every 6 months. That's a new one on me!! I then asked what brand the VW wiper blades were and the lady said they were no longer Bosch and hadn't been for almost three years.

We got talking as you do, and it turned out that I was talking to the daughter of the dealer principal, a man who was in short trousers when I bought my first new VW in 1981 from his Uncle! So, next Thursday, at 14:00 they will fix everything for me!!

Took the car to the dealer yesterday and they fixed the software issues I was having with the latest update. They couldn't change the trailer towing speed though but they said that they would speak to VW to see if it can be changed. As to the wiper issue, obviously the wipers are not covered under warranty and they recommended that I get some Bosch ones!

As regards the trailer towing speed, is there anyone here with a factory fit towbar for a UK model year 24/25? Wondering if its an issue with RHD spec cars.
