Gearbox in emergency mode: No reverse gear.

It’s been a while since I last posted on here, I’ve had my troc 2.0 tsi 4 motion
r line since 2019 so 6 years and now I have this message
Gearbox in emergency mode:
No reverse gear.
This can be reset mainly by switching of the engine and restarting and was very intermittent but now it’s happening all the time it looses 2nd and 3rd gears.
My question is has anyone else had this fault and what is causing it.

Have you any fault code reader to plug in?

Hopefully not the mechatronics 🤔

Usually with the mechatronics you lose either all the odd numbered gears or all the even numbered gears.

Have you many miles on it and have you kept your reccomended gearbox services up?

All services carried out by VW only 73000 km on the clock and no code reader.
The cars booked in at the dealers 2nd October for a full diagnostics, I thought a 42,000 Eruro VW would last longer than 6 years I will never buy another VW.
