I'm new to the site so hi to anyone out there.
Just purchased my first 1.6 diesel. My last 3 cars have all had the 2 litre diesel engine. 2 sciroccos and an audi. Compared to them I've getting poor mpg from my 1.6 t roc. I do mainly motorway and duel carriageway journeys and manage only 44 mpg. I've only had the car a few weeks but not impressed.
Anyone else getting these sort of figures or am I expecting too much.

First thousand the engine was tight but keeping it in eco mode I'm getting 48 to 51 on local journeys never been on motorway yet

Quite pleased with ours, getting 60 mpg on a regular basis, obviously drops down into the 40s round town!
