Got a feeling my disks ( 10,000 miles ) are squealing/squeaking a bit too now and again, hear it in car parks etc.
Isn’t this just the stuff they make the pads with nowadays ?
I just tap the brake pedal when I hear it and more often than not it goes away for a bit.
You correct its stuff used to make the pads, cheap stuff. In my case once the pads warm up the noise is always there when at low speeds.
Apparently there might be a new brake pad with different materials but we still waiting for it to arrive here.

Wondered if using ACC lots on the motorway applies slight braking frequently which creates slight glaze on the pads or something.
You know who’s doing the R&D these days don’t you…
In my case really doesn't matter whether is motorways or short runs. Noise still persists.
Whether I use ACC or not still an issue.

Strange thing is the car is 3months old and the wheel hubs are already rusting. I have had many vws now but none rusted even within the first year of ownership.
Must say I have noticed little dots of rust too. Mine is also about 4 months old now with 2700km.

Think I only heard about two or three sqeacks thus far, but all had to do with either very slowly pulling away or creeping to a standstill, this was all as the break pedal and/or the electronic parking break engaged/disengaged. Experienced the same on my Golf MK7, so not much to worry for now at least.

But I can feel your frustration. I will also be utterly unhappy to pay this price for a car and to have such an annoyance. I experienced this with a Ford Fiesta also many years ago and even the Ford Dealer that time could not sort it out.

I will keep an ear out for similar sounds. Is it a high pitch / low pitch sound? Does it sound like it is do with rotation or knocking? One side or both? Only when forward or in reverse as well? Flat or uneven road surface? Is it doing it in other drive modes (I assume you have 4-Motion just like me)?

So the noise happens at the same instances as you mentioned, it high pitched. when you out in traffic its annoying but doesnt seem that loud but soon as you in a basement parking it seems way louder with sound reflecting of the walls. apart from the high pitch you hear the pads rubbing away aswell. Road surface doesnt matter it does it consistently on slow take off/crawling in traffic. There is no knocking and seems like its both sides where you hear the noise. Drive mode doesnt make a difference and auto hold on or off doesnt help

Its a noise definitely from the outside as the noise is apparent when the window is down but I did remove the parcel board, bottom board spare wheel and polystyrene holder for the jack to narrow it down and still no luck. The noise is driving me crazyo_O
we have exactly the same problem and the dealership cannot solve it (so far)3 attempts so far

We have EXACTLY the same fault ,started after 1k miles=garage tried twice and now I'm looking to return the car.
Hi Michael, we also have exactly the same problem with brand new T-ROC (the squeaking noise started at 1000 miles). Been to dealership twice and are giving them one more chance to "fix" it. (Brakes have already been deglazed).
How's the return going? As that is our next move.
Have your dealership admitted that VW know that there is a problem?
Terry Rouse.

I know what you mean regards the wiper blades, they were atrocious.
I should really have got mine replaced under warranty as not fit for purpose, but didn’t bother, just went and got Bosch replacements.
Don’t tell me we’re going to have to do the same with the brake pads too..?

I’m just wondering if clamping the pads to the disk when you park up after a long journey when all the surfaces are really hot does something to the disk in that particular area or the surface of the pads ?

Not sure what kind of forces are at work but I suspect it’s quite strong.

Mind you I always leave mine in gear as well when parked up as my next door neighbour had his automatic/electronic handbrake fail on his Skoda and it rolled backwards into his house breaking his door mirror off and scraping all down one side of his car.

@Michael Weston I had badly scored discs since ownership and I've often wondered if the parking brake and or the brake drying system had something to do with it 🤔
As far as I'm aware the brake drying only works with the wipers in auto but I'm not sure?

Also I don't use autohold any longer and I don't use the parking brake if the ground is reasonably level, I just leave it in gear.

I have considered coding out the brake drying, how did we do in the past 🤷‍♂️

I believe coding will affect warranty.
As for AutoHold this has no effect as I used the car for a week without the feature activated and still the noise persists

Just found and have been reading through this: https://www.trocforums.co.uk/threads/4th-set-of-rear-pads-in-29k-miles-and-poor-ride-handling.3117/
Weather we’ve been having recently they’d be on most of the time..
Thank you, it is good to know it has this feature but I still don't suspect this is the issue in my case. Also I don't seem to feel anything grabbing or holding back.
I have however starting noticing kinda like a clunk noise when the rear brakes release when you reverse. Specifically in reverse only and its constantly there. And the other thing is when the handbrake engages I hear what sounds like a spring jumping out of place. This is random, I cannot find any pattern or frequency as to how often this happens. I still need to report this to the dealer.
