Can't say we've had a single issue with the MIB2 in our cross. Lucky I guess.
The biggest one I have (and I'm so fed up with it I've opened a case with VW support) is the "audio unavailable" bug with Apple CarPlay. Plug in the iPhone and no audio comes through. It shows that it's playing music or Siri is talking and the iPhone is definitely sending the audio but the infotainment system for some reason doesn't play it and shows an error by flashing the "audio muted" icon on the digital cockpit display. Drives me mental because if I don't notice, I have to pull over to unplug and plug again just to listen to music.
I had similar occasional issues like this @twist and tried another lead (my normal iPhone charging lead) and since then (touch wood) it's all been good.

Interesting... at first I thought it was that and I switched from the uselessly short little black and white cable VW supplied to an official iPhone cable but it made no difference. I'll try a third cable but given that this is a widespread issue among many different forums and always about VW cars, I'm not holding my breath. Odd that it has worked perfectly for you though after a swap. Has it never happened again? And do you use CarPlay every time (or most times) you drive?
No I only use CarPlay occasionally, generally when I'm NOT use the Sat Nav - reason being is that I've found if I have the Nav system guiding me and a WhatsApp message comes in, after a few of those the Infotainment system just throws a huff and completely screws up the Nav system (so I then have to swap to Google Maps, which isn't the best after all in the way it works). Takes a few hours then for the Nav to come back and work again for some reason (and that's after trying rests and god-knows what else).

So only an occasional user I' m afraid, as I find CarPlay just generally screws everything else up or makes it more long winded. Realistically I only use it when I want to play my Spotify playlists
