I have a 2019 T-Roc 1.5 SEL with sunroof. The rear passenger footwell gets very wet after rain. The VW garage has not found anything to cause it. Has anyone got any ideas what might be the cause?

I have had 2 T-Rocs from new with panoramic sunroofs. Both leaked from day one, mainly but not exclusively in the front footwells. Both had numerous and sometimes lengthy visits to the dealership, with all repairs fortunately covered under warranty. Various seals were replaced, without success, eventually, after guidance from VW HQ, the whole frame was replaced on both, and thankfully cured the problem each time. Moral of the story for me will be don't add a sunroof if I have another new VW !
Hope you get to the bottom of your problem. :)

The golf used to leak in around the door speakers, I'd assume the T-roc uses the same system 🤔

The door speakers are screwed to the door and have a foam seal which is known to fail.

If this were the case then surely the dealership would have already checked this out?

I had the same problem with my wife's Subaru. It turned out that the sill drain holes had been blocked with underseal. I had to very slowly go along the underside of the sills until I spotted where the original drill holes were located. Using a piece of stiff wire (I used a length of fencing wire), I probed through the underseal and the water came pouring out. That was my problem solved.
I've not had that problem so far on our 74 reg "R" line T-ROC 🤞

Possible block drain holes under your sills caused by the underseal. I had the same problem with my wife's Subaru. Using a piece of very stiff wire (Fencing wire), Look slowly and carefully on the underside of the sills until you find where the sill holes are located, then push the wire through and that was my problem solved as the water poured out.
I hope that this solves yours.

Update on this. The VW garage identified a blocked drain from the sunroof. The valve at the botttom of the drain was stuck shut causing water to fill the drain and overflow down behind the trim.
so if you have a sunroof, get those drains checked. They don’t do it on a normal service.
