Picked it up Tuesday (21/05/2019) and must say I'm really pleased, it's already garnered positive comments. 1.5TSI manual R Line, as it comes, no extras.

Not put too many miles on yet but no hint of any roo. I mentioned slight concern regarding this whilst signing paperwork, the salesman said he'd had 2 or 3 customers with the problem, all have had the software update with no reported issues thereafter. He also told me any new cars such as mine would have the update applied during the PDI as a matter of course.

Just waiting for some days off work to get a proper play with it!

Very nice! The darkened rear light cluster looks so cool with the black paint. Very executive.

Looks fab. Hope you enjoy it and the Roo has had it's day.

You wait all that time for a T-Roc and then 2 come at the same time, or am I seeing double :lol:

Looks great in black , I went for indium grey/black and I've loved it BUT yesterday I saw one in Atlantic blue wow wow wish I had seen that before .
On another note this week I've seen four trocs on the road when I never used to see any ?

Looks beautiful, but it is clean now! It will get dirty just standing there. I would only ever have a black car if it came with someone to wash it on the hour every hour. Also, far too hot if stood in the sun for more than 5 minutes, but having said that, that's about all the sun we get in this country.

I love the Indium Grey/Black and even doubted I'd made the right choice with the Pearl Black until I got it, just harder to keep clean though!

Black and white are anoying because when clean they both look really good, but unfortunately both show up dirt very quickly. There are lots of other colours out there which don't show the dirt, but they lack that something special that only black or white have.

I think a clean shiny Black Pearl looks fantastic and for those willing/able to keep them clean they are a great choice. Having the car detailed is one way to ensure those good looks last and turn heads.

After seeing both the new T-Cross and the T-Roc at our local dealer and subject to a test drive was about to order the T-Roc SEL in Imodium Grey. Then at another dealer I saw the R-Line in Deep Black Pearl. Must admit it looks good. What sort of ride do those big wheels give?

"Imodium Grey" 🤣 VW would have a hard time selling that one.

Owning a kangaroo is bad enough; having one with diarrhoea would add insult to injury :D

I'm hearing disabled and rely totally on subtitles when watching TV but an upside is the added, but unintentional humour that arises from errors in the subtitles, especially on 'live' news and current affairs programs.

The recent story about patients catching listeria after eating contaminated sandwiches in hospital was reported as 'patients eating NHS savages'. Perhaps those patients will need a dose of imodium.

Another one I love is the advert with a herd of cows blocking the road, and the policeman says to the driver in the car 'we're moo ...ving them along'. Could this be a new advert for VW and the T-Roc.

Do you have an iPhone? Apple's transcription of voicemails is absolutely priceless, specially if the caller has a bit of a cockney accent.

I had a transcribed voicemail from my dad telling me he had to "launch [my] mother off the Pentland Hills" when he had actually said they were having lunch up there.

Don't you just love predictive text.

I asked the question regarding the ride in an R-Line as I like the look of this one as a 1.5 DSG. Our dealer prefers the SE and SEL trim with Diesel power - their test vehicle is a 1.6 TDI SEL. Some of the reviews suggest avoiding the R-Line because of the 19" wheels.

It depends entirely on your own preferences; my opinion is:

1. The 1.6 diesel drives like a tractor;
2. The big wheels are not suited to an SUV and you may kerb them more easily;
3. The Dealer's preference might be motivated by a glut of diesels he can't sell.

Further to the comments by T Roo regarding the wheels on the R Line you must also be aware that the suspension is stiffened and lowered which further effects the comfort on our pot-holed and speed bumps on our over crowded roads. In my opinion, from our test run in the R Line, the suspension is too harsh. I do prefer comfort over outright appearance! The SEL is a good compromise.
One other point, that put me off the R Line, was the black "goth-like" interior that my wife said she couldn't live with!

Thanks for your opinion T Roo
If I required a tractor i'd look for a Massey Ferguson so I'll avoid the diesel.
I had also considered the dealers motives as this is also where the offers are. By promoting diesel they are presumably safeguarding against having a yard full of rejected Roo's.

I'll take on board the comments regarding the ride. We also have an UP! with big wheels that some might say has a harsh ride. It's what we have become accustomed to.

Both my daughter and I thought we could live with the black interior in the R-Line however my wife has not seen it and just like your wife may say NO. There is another point that could swing it in favour of the SEL, for the price difference we could have the panoramic sunroof.

I was somewhat apprehensive about the big wheels, low profile tyres and lowered suspension but my previous car was a Golf 1.4 TSI GT which had a similar setup, although the tyres and wheels weren't quite so extreme. Frankly the ride in the T-Roc is no worse and possibly better than the Golf.

I was also worried about the dark interior, but when I'm in the car I really don't notice it, and the seats are much nicer than in the SEL IMHO. So I'm happy I chose the R-Line, but everyone to their own.

I have the sports pack so have the dark roof lining however the SEL seats give the lift the interior needs IMHO, I love them.
