I do experience som kind of jerkiness, or dsg slipping, when the engine is cold.
I did invest in TVS software, which improved the drivability of dsg a lot. However when the car is cold, doing 'fresh' acceleration, it still feels as if the car looses power, for a very short moment, but I am in doubt if it is due to dsg or the engine. I have always thought it was due to dsg, but after reading various forums, I am in doubt.
I experience it when doing fresh acceleration in 1-2-3-4-5, between 1800-2400 rpm. It feels as if the dsg is going shortly into neutral, loosing torque momentarily, then engages again. When engine is warm, above 50 degree Celsius, there is no issues at all. I would think that if it really was a clutch/dsg problem, then it should be able to reproduce the behavior non regardless of engine temperature.

Well, just as the engine warms up the DSG box will warm up too, so it could still be a DSG issue. Has the workshop examined the car and checked the oil level in the box ?

That have not been checked, the oil for DSG7 dry clutch (DQ200) is not meant to be changed - as far as I know - the synthetic oil used is meant as "filled for life".

I asked the workshop earlier today, vw have apparently been working on a release of software for t-roc since 13.05.2019, so they hoped for a solution soon. I was also in contact with an owner of a Passat 1.5 tsi dsg, he got his engine updated and it have solved most of the issues with jerking/judder... But not all. He was not overly impressed with vw and a 400.000Dkr car.

VW have been working on a 'solution' for a lot longer than that. They are either incapable of a solution or will not commit to the expense of a proper solution. In the meantime, they would like to use the 400.000Dkr Passat to experiment with and give the illusion that a software fix is on the way.

Customers are being mugged.

I thought 13.05.2019 was a typo ... 13.05.2018 seems more realistic

Yes, you know that and I know that but it’s worth setting the record straight for readers. Besides, who knows what Dealers are telling customers?

Grrralp,

Thats funny. I have the same car as you and my wife has the same as your wife!! I agree with yours and previous posts. My wife's 2017 1.2 DSG Polo doesn't have any cold start issues, where as my 1.5 DSG has all the cold start jerkiness mention in this thread. I don't find it a major issue, as it doesn't seem to last long and is only really noticeable in first and maybe a little in second when cold starting. It would be nice if it wasn't there though

Hi Guys…
Here is today's latest, that's in my story so far...
As you have read in my opening post on this thread, it was to see if any/how many 1.5tsi with dsg were encountering cold start/initial manoeuvering jerkiness.
Several of you replied that you too are encountering this issue.
You should also be aware that there is another 1.5tsi related issue generally referred to as 'Roo'ing'. Of which VW have now released a software update.
For the sake of it, I'll call that the 1.0 software upgrade.
My car has had that upgrade over 1 month ago, of which made no difference to the cold start jerking. So last week I sent more details to VW Cust Sve.
Today they called me back to inform me that they are aware that the 1.0 software upgrade has not been an effective fix on all 1.5tsi cars !
And that the VW 'tech' guys are now working on a 2.0 software upgrade.
There was no indication when this will be available or when it will be rolled out.
However they did say, that it will MOST LIKELY be rolled out during a scheduled service, rather than a specific 'call in' request.
So, I live in hope... Yet again :)
