My speed warning bong works when I exceed the speed from the last speed limit sign not from one that I have set myself .

If the speed limit is 30 and I do 31 it bongs and the speed limit sign on the sat nav and the instrument cluster shows an explanation sign ( well thats what it looks like ) and stays like that until I drop down to 30 and then will do it again if I go up to 31 again or 41 in a 40 51 in a 50 etc .

John Boy, I believe you have a very recent model and it now has the integration of speed signs and speed limiting. So there are a variety of different implementations of speed warnings that VW have used over the years.

Yes Tricky it is a march 21reg so must have an updated speed sign recognition , I just wondered if it's because I drive with the map on the screen all the time , It didn't do it when I first picked up the car so I must have set it myself somehow , Don't ask me how just so many buttons to press !

John boy, dynamic road sign recognition has always worked the same way ie the camera reads the signs and the nav data fills in the gaps.

You'll find at some stage the nav information is wrong and will tell you the wrong speed limit 🤷‍♂️

Example :
On my way home from work everyday, at the entrance to a roundabout the 60mph speed limit changes to 70mph and there are no dual carriages/motorways anywhere 🙈🤔

Yes i've had this on several of my last cars ,it's not been a problem though , The T ROC is the first i've had with an audible alarm which at the moment is ok but we'll see , It even works in car parks with a speed limit of 5 mph !

I keep the visual/audible warnings on as well and it doesn't annoy me at all, I set mine to 3mph over the limit 👌

How do you set that? Do you have to OBD enable traffic sign recognition first to see options?

When the alarm sounds, try selecting 'Car' on the Infotainmnet screen. You may then have to toggle between various screens but there is one which allows you to turn off the audible warning for parking sensors and the speed warning may appear in that when it is activated. I'm only guessing as I've never used the speed warning on my car.

You sure do but I'd have thought it was possible with carista as well 🤔🤷‍♂️
