I paid the same £159, never got any paperwork though but managed to get a reference number after a lot of chasing the dealer! Might be fun when it goes for service in April, I expect to have done about 7,500 miles by then
I realised after a few months that I didn't have any paperwork either - rang dealer (Inchcape) who said "no problem, the service plan is with us, its exactly the same as the VW one" - err no said I, you never told me that - as far as I was concerned, I purchased the VW service plan so I can take my car to any VW dealership to get serviced. They agreed to change it to the VW one and I got the paperwork through about a week later. Just as well as about 6 weeks later the dealership changed hands (Inchcape sold quite a few of their dealerships to Beadles) - so no idea whether the plan Inchcape provided would have been honoured (I assume it would have been but who knows?)

So @Helen657, it sounds like your dealership may have done similar to you - I'd go back to them and ask for your VW service plan paperwork, as with the proper VW plan, it's registered with VW not the dealership.
Hi Hawkeye, thanks for that my plan is through VWFS (mentioned on an email) & I must admit that I don’t know whether it’s restricted to the dealership or not. However, it’d be a trek to get to any other dealer round here, so I shan’t be going elsewhere & as soon as the 2 years are up I’ll be straight back to the fab mechanic who serviced my Volvos for the previous 18 years, he still does my son's Polo for me. The normal dealership prices are astronomical 😱😱

I've just completed 9,000 miles and had an "Oil change" (as prompted by the Infotainment screen) carried out by the local VW dealer.

I was schocked to see the invoice - £259.79!!!

£162.50 for the "Service as Required and reset the service light"
£6.88 for the oil filter
£3.09 for the plug
£41.00 for 5L of oil
£41.30 VAT

Fortunately I took out the 2 year service plan when I bought the car, I still feel like I've been mugged though
I had my oil service today...invoice for £188.00.

£103.78 for the oil service and health check and video.
£7.50 for the oil filter.
£3.25 for the plug.
£34.10 for the oil (mobil sp)
£3.20 for the washer.
£4.84 for the cleaner.
£31.33 VAT.
Free....Cleaned car inside and out
Free....Courtesy car

I didn't take out a service plan.

Mine was only £102 including VAT at my normal independent. Gave me a lift home and collected me later, also left the remainder of the container of oil in the boot for any future use
