Are those individual journeys Nellybee ?

If so, do you also know the distance covered for each journey, as the mpg over a short distance has far less statistical weight than over a long distance.

Surprised today on my routine commute, as my MPG over the 10 mile route averaging 27 mph (mixture of A roads and motorway) was 46.2. This is a notable increase - typically 40 MPG. Wondering whether the milder conditions have caused this or maybe things are "loosening up" after 3000 miles or so. Anyway I hope this will continue. Happy with this performance from my 1.5 TSI DSG
Hi Grralph... I could have written your comments myself. They reflect exactly what I am currently experiencing. My driving is pretty similar week on week and without any scientific measuring my T-Roc data has moved from averaging 38mpg to 47mpg as the engine "beds in". so far I have 2300miles on the clock and mpg is getting better and better. :D

Very happy with mpg so far... Now is just the early morning Roo I have to get rid off :x

Hi Lanchelt - good news with the improved economy. Would be interested to know the experience of others. There was also a MPG boost on my recent longer trip to London and back (200 miles each way), but not so marked. You are unlucky to have the morning Roo on your DSG as this seems mainly to affect the manual gearbox. I hope you and all with this problem have a resolution soon.

I have a short 7 mile round trip commute to work and as others have said it's hard to gage a correct mpg.
I can go to work doing 27mpg and comeback at 42 mpg, I find a massive difference even if I put the foot down slightly.
For top mpg I find I need to tooter to work at 45mph going through the gears under 2000rpm and coast on hills.
Overall mpg since start varys around 36.5mpg.
I believe good mpg's would be possible if I had longer journeys, got half decent mpg's the other week on an 18 mile round trip which involved partly in town driving.

After 3700 miles my average consumption is 34 MPG. I do mostly short runs with cold engine during rush hour with lots of start stops. On longer runs, consumption tend to fall below 40 MPG. I'm not easy on the pedal and my favorite drive mode is Sport :D

Just gone through the 1000 mile marker and am starting to get more acceptable mpg .... I haven't been able to do a 'Brim-to-Brim' test yet as I've needed to fill up for specific trips that would have entailed paying higher pump prices so I'm only able to monitor using the on-board read-outs ..... I appear to be getting around 42mpg on all 'screens'- 'Long Term', 'Since start' and 'Since refuelling'. Recently, cruising on the Motorway at 70mph, I reset the 'Since Start' screen (holding down the 'OK' button on the RHS of the steering wheel for a couple of seconds and the figure went from approx 44mpg momentarily up to 285mpg!! but soon slowly settled back down to about 47mpg so I assume that's near to what I'm getting at 70mph .. I can live with that.

So far in my limited test, the screen reading and my own calculations have been virtually identical.

Much more so than my previous car, that was very optimistic in the screen reading to the actual mpg.

Going from manual to auto, slightly bigger car, and larger engine yet the mpg is only 7 or 8 down in the T Roc. :D

An update on my 1.5 DSG - 5000 miles and six months on. My fuel economy has improved. A long Manchester to London drive in stop / start traffic on Friday - 194 miles in 4 hours 20 minutes at an average speed of 45 mph produced 58.7 mpg. Best economy for that drive. Ironically an easier clear drive home at an average of 55 mph showed 49 mpg. Not sure why. Overall I'm happy with these figures. 400 miles and still plenty of petrol left in the tank. Here's a photo taken at the end of the outward journey.

I do a similar 200 mile trip and average around 55mpg, but then I listen to radio 4. I'll maybe try classic FM and try to get those extra couple of mpg.
