IMO VW sat nav's have always been substandard and they're not getting any better! The nav in my 4 year old Mazda was better than the nav is in my new TROC. A colleague of mine who had a 4 year old Passat just used a standalone Garmin instead and gave up on the VW POS. Fortunately having the phone integration means you can use google maps or waze which are significantly better than the VW offering. When the rest of the tech on the ROC is so good it's a bit of a shocker.
Even Apple Maps are decent these days and miles better than VW’s. I use Apple Maps pretty much exclusively since it’s the only one with a dashboard tile in the new CarPlay and I like the dashboard.
Hi Twist, Apple Maps shows on the dashboard? Or do you mean you like the design of it. Thanks :-)

Waze and Google Maps both have dashboard tiles. I'm not a fan of apple maps personally.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant that Apple’s CarPlay now has a “dashboard” (shown on the infotainment screen, not the digital dashboard in front of the steering wheel) which shows tiles for maps, turn-by-turn, music, calendar, etc. and that’s what I meant.

Sadly there’s no way to get this stuff displayed on the digital dash right now.

Are you sure? My understanding was that Apple only allow Apple Maps on that dashboard layout. When I tested during the beta that’s how it worked. I’ll have to try again with Gmaps and see because that would be a welcome change.

See my other post above, is this the dashboard you're after?

Nah see the button in the bottom right (square with three horizontal lines)? Tap that and it goes to the dashboard. Has various tiles. That’s the one I’m on about. I’m almost positive that *only* Apple Maps can display its route guidance on that one.

I have just confirmed I can enter B40 1NT or 'NEC Birmingham' and my SatNav can establish routes to either without any issue.
