T-Roc actual MPG

Post by peterh » Tue Jun 16, 2020 3:24 pm

Hello sorry if this has been done to death.
I’m thinking of getting a T-Roc 1.5 evo DSG or a 2.0 with standard DSG and 4motion.
Can people tell me what mpg you get in normal driving for both models.
I don’t want to get the 2.0 and find it uses ridiculous
amounts of fuel compared to the 1.5. I don’t mind when it’s driven hard if the mpg on the 2.0 is low it’s just to be expected. I’m just interested what they both do in normal average driving.
Thank you for any help.
Thank you
Peter

On my 2.0 R-Line (with 4Motion and DSG - car has now covered 7,750 miles), I get on average between 32-36mpg around town (depends how much start/stop and short journeys) and around 42-44mpg on longer motorway runs.

I must add, 99% of my journey's are short.

1.5 TSI DSG R-Line. Gentle driver about town and short journeys :D

But I drive at the national speed limits on longer runs and will overtake when being held up  :o  :D

I fill my tank to the brim on every fill and calculate my actual mpg for each tankful in a spreadsheet, so the following are real mpg figures rather than what the car thinks.

I've now done 5100 miles in 13 months and my overall consumption is currently sitting at 39.8 mpg. My best brim to brim tankful returned 46.3 mpg and the worst was 34.4. My best long run of aprrox 270 miles on motorway returned about 54 mpg. However, most of my driving is short journeys of 3 or 4 miles even before lockdown.

It is worth noting that these figures vary between summer (better) and winter (worse) and this is the same pattern on all the cars I've had. However, due to lockdown my mpg hasn't recovered to the usual summer figures this year.

I should have added that I’m near to 16,000 on the clock - I had a 100 mile round trip commute pre Covid
