Fine, now after 70 pages of negative, positive and neutral comments. Some buck, some don't, some goes faster and some also dont go at all when asked to do so, are we any closer as to which 1.5 variant does what and why? Surely there has to be a pattern here.

We have realized that there are a lot of Rocs that have stood about for months in the mid day sun on airports. Strikes and holidays have all played a part in the mess.
There are many who have had deliveries of different spec 1.5's but, has anybody actually sorted out the date of build rather than the date of registration/delivery. This could maybe shed light on the build batches of the "good, bad and the warty" by what the different components / build periods were to maybe cause one to be a rogue and another just what they should be.

Brid there has to be an analysis based on model and build date because as you say delivery and final registration of vehicle are incorrect in delivery sequence. Due to the relatively small number of TRoc owners who have joined the forum it would be difficult for a fair analysis to be made by anyone other than VW. Since production of the TRoc began approx 140,000 cars have been built based on figures found on the internet across the model range of which the 1.5tsi will be a small part. What would be helpful on the forum is that all contributors complete their car description and build date/registration date to see if there is any correlation here. Just a thought.

I agree.

The only people with ALL the relevant information for all manufactured t-Rocs are VW. Obviously only a small proportion of owners are forum members, and those who bought their cars from dealer stock are unlikley to know the original build and storage/shipping history. Even those on the forum who have tracked their order progress are often baffled by the length of time it takes some orders from build to reach the dealer, so who knows where they were stored and under what conditions. Presumably VW will know precise details for every single car, including subsequent dealer workshop visits.

I think it is probably wrong to assume that VW haven't analysed this data trying to find any common factors for the affected cars, but I wouldn't expect them to make any findings public. I suppose it is possible that there is no common factor and it is all just chance, which could result from a mixture and combination of part tolerances. We can only hope that is not the case, as it will make finding a fix a lot harder.

Had a quick look at that ... seems the VIN only contains the month and year of manufacture so not sufficient for trying to find any common factor related to kangarooing, unless all affected cars were built in the same month, but that seems unlikely given that the problem reports from forum members stretch back over a year, and many reporting the issue from day one.

VW need to do this (and probably have) as it requires access to the databases that contain the entire build and subsequent history of each vehicle. Those databases probably contain details of every sub-assembly and major component on the car, giving dates of manufacture, batch numbers, any engineering change (EC) revision levels, source etc.

My build date was 1-10-18 and delivered to me 16-11-18 now got 2000 miles on clock & no kangaroo or other problems
Would be interested to know if anyone else had a 1-10-18 or that month oct build date if their cars are ok or kangarooing or anything else ?

Oddly that was my delivery date too - and mine is an awful kangaroorer! Will check the VIN to see.
Also I was wondering if we should record this in the form previously posted by a member of the forum as it'll be more traceable/usable than just text in these posts?

Up to people to decide - but the link is here.

Hi.
I have a Skoda Octavia 1.5 with the same problem regardless of engine temperature.
The car was bought in Finland, now there is a mileage of 4050km. I'm tired of the kangaroo!
Dealer, representative office, Skoda info - they all just make promises. This may last forever until we lose the warranty.

I decided to try to integrate people with the same problem together, perhaps this will give us the advantage and leverage.

Form to fill:

Perhaps this form will not gather a lot of people, but at least we need to try.

HiYa... Just checked this list against my VIN number... Unfortunately it doesn't match my kangarooing T-Roc at all....

My VIN begins VWGZZZZA1Z........ So don't fit aware with this list from team-bhp.com

However, what I do have in my possession is a form called a "Vehicle Detail" form which lists the production date of my car as 24th October 2018.

Cheers
