Update on mine , been to collect the car and one of the guys at the garage said shall I come out for a drive in it with you before you leave . He drove it , we hadn’t got out of the car park and it did it ..... talk about relieved !!! It did it a few times whilst we were out as well. VW have admitted there is a known fault and the software update should sort it , but on our car we are already on that software . Car has remained with the garage and back to the polo which doesn’t do it ..... so this will get resolved now one way or another . Think we just need to keep taking the cars back and try and get video evidence to show the garage. Report it as a complaint as well direct with VW and keep making a fuss !!!!

Why should we keeping take the cars back? if it is not fit for purpose, it is not fit for purpose.

Problem solved, returned car. VW acknowledged the problem.

Do you mean they fixed it; or you no longer own the car?

No, they couldn’t fix it. VW Germany acknowledged there is a problem and as of last week there was no fix. They are apparently working a solution, but no time scales were provided. I returned my 3 week old car.

Thanks for the update. For a while I thought we had a solution - soon hopefully

I hope that VW resolve the problem and you as well as all the other 1.5 manual T-Roc owners have many miles of trouble free motoring. I did what I felt was right for me by returning the car. I would suggest you persist with your demands for a car that is fit for purpose. You do have consumer rights protecting you and it would worthwhile looking them up. If you look across the Seat and Skoda forums you’ll find they have similar issues. This leads me to conclude there is a design flaw with the 1.5 TSI evo engine when mated to a manual gear box.

I and a few others also had the same problems on our tiguans which was a nightmare stop star traffic going up hill.
The clutch felt so light.
When I rejected ours I changed the car to a dsg.
