Not 100% sure how part exchange works but surely they can’t change the value anyway once all is signed? I mean ok, if you were to bring them a dumpster fire of a car when they were expecting one in good condition, they could claim you misled them but assuming you were honest about the condition, I wouldn’t think they could.

Your PX trade-in value should have been agreed at the time of order. Mine was stated on the order form, and even though I waited 11 months for my car, the dealer honoured the the new car price and the trade-in valuation.

Ask your dealer to confirm that they will honour the valuation given at the time of order, and if not then that is the point at which to apply pressure by threatening to cancel completely. Otherwise, take the £500 as holiday spending money and smile :D

Well that was one of the most surreal things to happen to me! I went into my dealer to sign one last bit of paperwork, and while walking into the showroom I walk straight past my new T-Roc, sat on the forecourt!
Dealer said I could take it home immediately, so I handed him the keys to my old car and am now the proud owner of my brand new T-Roc! 😬
Excellent! Get some pics up when you can
I’ve just uploaded pics to the gallery page :)

I think its because they dont have Urinal Grey paint?
I think you're right, they've pi$$ed so many people off they have to build more urinals!

Course I have you melon! Why do you think it says Urinal Grey in brackets in my signature? its a crap colour and a crap name hence changing Urano to Urinal! Its a colour better suited to a urinal than a car.

The dealer reduced my confirmed part exchange price on the 1st May (order date) to allow for the fact that the new car would not be ready to late September (original quoted lead time). I will go back to the dealer and ask them to confirm the part ex price based on the order date as the car is now available 2 months early.

I don’t think they’ll give you more. My dealer said the same regarding my Golf as the estimated delivery was October so I decided to sell it myself. What I noticed was that all the online valuations reduced the price by roughly the same amount at the same time (around the end of May, start of June). I’m guessing they all use a similar system for valuing cars and as such, the value has already dropped.

I could be wrong and it’s still worth asking your dealer but that has been my experience. In all honesty, I wish I’d just taken the PX!

Dealer has gone halfway between the part ex price on 1st May and the part ex price for end of September so basically with the £500 if I take the offer from VW is back to the original deal. Therefore whilst in the same financial position I am getting the car as a 19 plate instead of a 69 plate.
