Tyre pressures Door Sticker

Post by TRocMan » Mon Nov 04, 2019 8:41 pm

Hi all,

My T-Roc is Ex Demo and has 17" tyres but the Door Sticker has info for 18" tyres. I have searched everywhere online for the info but even tyre websites give different info.

Does anyone have the info or an image of the door sticker ?

Regards

You need to contact Customer Services (and have your VIN number handy) as there are a variety of tyre pressures/door sticker for the T-ROC depending on model, spec and tyre size. There isn't "one pressure fits all" unfortunately, which is why you won't find the tyre pressures in the handbook even.

For you to have a sticker though for an 18" wheel size suggests that when your car left the factory it did in fact have 18" wheels fitted, and that 17" wheels have been retro-fitted. Unless the wrong sticker was applied in the factory (which I think unlikely). Customer Services can confirm the original spec of the car and what size wheels would have been fitted.

TRocMan, if you look at the sticker on the door pillar, the very bottom section is for the space-saver spare wheel (as indicated by the graphic). Mine indicates: T125/70 R18 which is exactly the specification of my spare. I think that is the standard spare wheel for all vehicles? Check the size of your spare - does it correspond to mine? That being the case, the recommended pressures on the sticker will in fact be for your 17” tyres.

Each T-Roc carries a tire pressure sticker on the car, not to mention the size of tire in use,
but refers to spare tire as size 18 for all models even if this option is NOT available in this version

But this is my spare tyre

I’ve got 18” wheels

I did mention this to the dealership last year when I picked it up and they said was all to do with rim diameters and was ok but I still don’t quite understand it.

Any thoughts?

My guess is that the rim that is your spare has a deeper tyre to compensate for the size difference between your 18” wheels and the 16”spare. This would regularise the outer circumference for obvious reasons. But having different sized fitted rims to that of your spare isn’t ideal - perhaps it’s cost cutting?

I’d ask the dealer for an 18” rim and tyre in replacement for the spare. But good luck with that! ;)

Its not cost cutting - if its a space saver wheel typically (but not necessarily) it will be a smaller rim and a smaller profile wheel with a max speed of 50mph / 80kph stamped on it. Had similar on my Audi S3 and my wifes' A1.

On my 2.0 TSi with the BEATS system, I have a smaller profile spare tyre. No biggie it's standard practice across all manufacturers. To me actually its a big bonus as many manufacturers now don't even supply a spare wheel at all (instead you get that useless foam canister to fill your tyre) so having a wheel one can fit is luxury!!

For sure I'd check it with the dealer, but I suspect that what you have is the standard spare for your car.

Is that a full sized spare and the sticker is for a space saver tyre
