Bosch Aero twin blades

Post by 182_blue » Mon Feb 10, 2020 6:04 pm

I usually swap the factory blades for the Bosch Aerotwin equivalent, anyone else done this?, I found a set but when I put R in it says not compatible, I'm guessing this is just an error, surely the R doesn't have specific wipers!.

That would be absurd. I guarantee the system you used just doesn’t have the R listed yet. Lots of them still don’t even see the T-Roc as a model at all.

I doubt this either - I had similar problems with my previous Audi RSQ3, many systems didn't recognise the RSQ3, just the Q3 (including often Audi's own systems, but lets not go there!!!!)

There is no reason why "R" wipers should be any different, so selecting either the SEL or R-Line models should give exactly the same.

And as vernerbongo2 has already said, the standard wiper blades are none too shabby (and I'm very particular about clear screens). After a year mine now are still clearing the screen just fine.

Personally I'd run with the standard wipers for the time being, and maybe look to replace them end Autumn/early winter if you are particularly concerned.

If I liked the standard ones I wouldn't be looking for replacements though, but again thanks.

Take one off your car and ask the guys in Halfords can you compare them before you buy any.
But as others say ,the R won’t have a different system.
Standard ones are crap especially the rear one.
Will be changing mine soon.

I might have been a little harsh on the standard ones as most of the marks seem to be from factory stickers etc, I will see when I give the glass a real clean with proper stuff.

Still interested in the Bosch stuff.

I have had no problems with the front ones, but as most people seem to have problems with the rear, I was no different and had to replace the rear one. The front ones are still OK after 6000 miles but I am keeping an eye on them and will go for Bosch when they bite the dust. I bet they still come out cheaper than the So called genuine VW ones.
