This unit is plugged with a female usb A to male usb C adaptor cable ( 6") into one of the rear usb C ports in the car. I am using the 2 year 3 mobile 24 gig data sim. It works well and my data is now affordable. I can set the Wingle as the chosen WiFi in the car and share the connection . See car WiFi in Settings.

So you need an external module which provides car with internet and all devices connect to cars network/wifi?

I have a contract with unlimited data and can get a second sim to share my data with other device. This is why I was thinking 4g router.

You can do data in my R line T Roc using the built in VW system but it uses Cubic telecom data plans and the only one that lasts a year is over ÂŁ70... so no thanks from me. Yes I did have to buy ÂŁ50 wingle, but my data is 2 years for ÂŁ35 and once I have the wingle that makes it ÂŁ17.50 a year for data. I can also plug the wingle in a laptop when away for a few days.
