Mine car (March 2024) is HW (H25), SW (0330), 3G5035820P, Radion data base 1.31.44, I have downloaded the update but not got around to installing it yet!
i downloaded it last year v1.31.50 but as it was reported on here no new images I never bothered to install, I checked last week and it is now downloading v1.31.56

Hi, I will be surprised if the v1.31.56 installs as your hardware is H25 which is the same as mine and it didn't work on mine.

Regards John

Thanks for that info @LennytheLion

This is a real dog's dinner ... as you probably know, the Phonostar site confirms v1.31.56 should be suitable for your car

To summarise where we're at, so far we have only 2 owners who have managed to update to v1.31.56
@Scottydog90 - 3G5035820H H22
@Ken Cabrio - 3G5035820K H??

Meanwhile, 3 owners have tried but were unable to update to v1.31.56
@LennytheLion - 3G5035820D H22
@John_R_F - 3G5035816P H25 (Discover Pro)
@Impala - 3G8035816B H40

At least there is a valid reason why mine didn't update ... my device part number is not recognised by Phonostar (which I've reported). In addition I have MOI3GP according to my SW Train and the 56 version is for nonGP according to the filename. However Phonostar confirms v1.31.56 should be suitable for @LennttheLion and @John_R_F, so why won't it update ?

Its a fantastic idea to compartmentalise the hardware behind an ever increasing web of part numbers, each requiring a variation of the updates to function. It rather reminds me of the gag where the said subject rotates in ever decreasing concentric circles , un til it eventually disappears up its own fundamental orifice !

Is this the reason VW models are changed so often, after hexadecimal references only allow for so many variations ! I have updated to the latest and am glad to say that even after deleting all stored stations and starting from scratch to allow a fresh search and install ....

I think you said it was improved, but there are still a lot of gaps there.

We'll probably never understand why or get a full set and as you say, VW (and others) will move ever onwards to another model or facelift and then it all starts again ad infinitum. :sleep:👻💀🦴

Is that on the car listed in you signature as
1.5 TSI DSG SEL 2019: 3 Feb - Ordered ... 10 Sep - Stage 5a Left factory ... 15 Oct Collected ?

The reason I ask is because my previous 2019 T-Roc didn't use this radio station database for station logos, so I'm trying to understand what infotainment system is in your car. Does it have the 2 SD card slots and CD/DVD drive in the glove box unit ? I'm wondering if it is what we have called th Mib2.5

Well I bit the bullit and tried upgrading mine, and it worked I now have a load of images for the radio stations, a quick look and it looks like up to now (still checking) it is the absolute radio is the only ones without logos :)

From Google !

Global
is the largest commercial radio station owner in the UK. Global, the media giant which owns commercial radio stations such as Capital, Heart and LBC, has now lost almost £700m since it last reported a pre-tax profit

That's because no damn VW driver is able to find your tile and because it takes you two months and you can't answer a question .

What are the details in your System Information ?

My car details were (March 2024) is HW (H25), SW (0330), 3G5035820P, Radion data base 1.31.44 (now 1.31.56), I noticed that some of them did not show the logos but if you went into the info to add logos theuy are there just need to assign them, I think there is 90-95% there now justy the capital & absolute radios and 1 or 2 small staions being the missing.

Oops. I upgraded the car - thought I had upgraded the sig too!

I have wireless carplay + android auto so reckon I am a MIB 3.

Corrected:
1.5 TSI DSG Active Black convertible (with black roof) Rear Camera, Keyless
MY22 (say VW) but registered July 21

Update today from Global re missing stations .... this is after nearly 2 months and their investigation .....
Hello,

Thank you for your continued patience while we look into this for you.

We've done some investigating and it's our understanding that VW do have our logos, however, we are unsure as to why they do not update when they change.

You are welcome to try the below steps which may help resolve this for you, however, we'd recommend doing so only if you feel comfortable following these steps:

This video may be able to able to update the logos manually and you can get our up to date logos from Radio DNS here.

Alternatively, you could contact VW directly and ask them to provide further support and assistance, they might be able to resolve this for you.

I am sorry that we aren't able to offer any further advice on this.

Best wishes,

Holly

The linked video showed an SD card being inserted into the glove box unit of a rather dated VW design when there was an update from card option in the header menu. !

I responded with link to phonostar.de mail about the omissions

Hi Holly,

Thanks for your mail. The video you link is in fact no longer relevant to the MIB3 entertainment unit fitted to more recent vehicles. This new unit, much to all our disgust, no longer allows the update path that we all followed in the previous regime.
Today's header units require a software pre prepared update for the entire unit. These updates are supplied via phonostar.de for VW . As the link suggests this is a German outfit, and when I queried why so many UK stations were not tiled, they responded that some radio companies had not allowed them to use their tiles.

I noted that of the recent omissions Global were not represented, like Capital series and Heart, LBC and a few others. Bauer media also has a few rather less popular stations omitted, and I may jog them too. As a long term listener to
Capital, LBC and Heart I find this annoying as do may I say, the many other posters on the VW forums.

As way of opening this, I shall include E Mail comment received from phonostar.de re these omissions in the listing.

Hello Ken
As assumed, the logos of Capital and Gold are not included in this download file. The broadcaster owners had not previously given their consent to their use. However, the logos will be included in the next update.
Kind regards
Your phonostar team

I Also did a google on who owns 90% of the missing stations and it is Global along with a couple of obscure stations owned by Bauer Media. So lets see if this might get Phonostar and Global chatting to improve both their businesses.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at that response. It would be easier for VW to offer to retrofit MIB2 units.

As a well known newspaper columnist might say "You couldn't make it up"

:LOL: 😂😢😭

As we approach the latter part of March 2025 and my last contact with Phonostar.de was 6.1.25 I messaged them to see if we might find progress

Re the VW update for station logos , I note that the last update is 11.11.24 and wondered if we might see a new update soon to include the promised tiles for Global UKs radio stations that were previously missing such as Capital Radio, LBC, Heart etc.

I will post any update from them as it arrives.

I have Heart logos on mine, I had to go to the add station logo bit and they were there, had to do this for a few stations but still missing absolute radio stations and a few greatest hits radio like the 60's one.

What update is that ? ... it seems some headers are different part numbers and accept different updates.
The update I installed was: v1.31.56 - 11.11.2024 but as I said there were missing ones on a few (heart, smooth from memory) had to go in settings - update logos - select station - (this was always blank before the updates, now they show some logos for the missing ones which do not update automatically).
