Thanks for the update, I hope it's sticks. They must of had a influx of complaints on this.

Thanks then MK2 did not bring back dual tone.

@twist I can definitely confirm this on the MK2. I do confirm there is some improvements but not with the hooter. Even the golf 8 GTI in the SA market has single tone.
Twin-tone horns are to be fitted on the T-Roc in 2024 once the factory reopens from the Christmas holidays.

Technically the current T-Roc is MK1.5 as it was only a facelift. MK2 is coming ~2026.

Sound goods, that would mean it will be the last combustion motor T Roc. Just hope they not going to use the styling from the newly leaked Tiguan. Not a fan of that styling.

My understanding is that there is one major revision coming - the 'next' T-Roc will be based on the Mk8 golf platform. THAT will be the last Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) T-Roc. However that is just based on various media reporting, so far from gospel...

I'm actually surprised they not going hybrid, those leaks suggest it's one more ICE power then hybrid before full EV

VW group appear to have little interest in hybrid. There are a small number of "mild hybrid" vehicles in the range, but it's a very small exposure.

From a 'climate emergency' viewpoint, hybrids are not a sufficient step change and are due to be phased out along with petrol and diesel. At the moment, that suggests only full EV will be available but there are already rumblings of the end date for ICE being pushed back due to insufficient infrastructure and electricity supply.

In other words our wonderful politicians have put the cart before the horse.

Hybrids would be best here, we def don't have enough infrastructure nor do we have electricity. Households go about 12 hours a day will no electricity.

So update on the squeaking. I think this is something I will just have to live with. Noticed this on 2 other R lines/4 motion T Rocs and unfortunately the owners also eventually just gave up that VW would fix the issue.

Perfectly good question. Car has Auto hold but doesn't matter if I have it on or off I still hear the noise intermittently. I originally suspected the Auto handbrake was not disengaging fully but seems that isn't the cause either. I am tempted to open a ticket with VWSA head office but from past experience they will basically send me back to the dealership which seems they have no clue what's going on themselves.
We have EXACTLY the same fault ,started after 1k miles=garage tried twice and now I'm looking to return the car.

Same for us, 6 months old, 4000 miles, squeaking started about a month ago. Booked in with the dealer next week so we shall see what they have to say. I have a managed to get a video, doesn't show much but they will be able to hear the sound. What with this, the kangaroo throttle, the noisy rear wiper and the start/stop that hardly operates I am starting to think I have made a mistake trying a VW. Thought I was buying a quality car but not so sure now.

Got a feeling my disks ( 10,000 miles ) are squealing/squeaking a bit too now and again, hear it in car parks etc.
Isn’t this just the stuff they make the pads with nowadays ?
I just tap the brake pedal when I hear it and more often than not it goes away for a bit.

Wondered if using ACC lots on the motorway applies slight braking frequently which creates slight glaze on the pads or something.
You know who’s doing the R&D these days don’t you…

Hello everyone,

I have a new 2023 T Roc 2.0 rline. Owned it for about 3 months with 3400kms(2100miles) done. Recently noticed a squeaking from the rear of the car at low speed (around 20km/h) 5-6mi/h.
Basically if you take off slow you hear this and i cannot seem to pick this noise up once at higher speeds. Point to note no brakes applied when i hear the sound. Had the car booked the first time. Vw claimed nothing is wrong and didn't do anything as they didnt pick up the sound. Second booking they claimed again nothing wrong and cannot detect the issue but this time they ground the brake pads and cleaned up the disks and calipers.
Still no luck, sound is still there. Anyone face this before and what was the resolution?
Make the wife sit in the front😜

Leave the mouse at home ? 😾

Apparently there has been a few complaints against brakes lately on various models not just the T-Roc. Let us know if you get the matter resolved or if u end up returning it.

I know how you feel. Did you book the car in yet? What was the outcome?
