I’ve also now seen the more or less complete exterior. It basically looks like a slightly smaller Tiguan. I don’t particularly like the new design if I’m honest. It is not recognizable to me as a T-Roc, except from perhaps the side profile.

It’s got the horrible narrow strip across the front like the Golf 8. Design is subjective I guess but it really doesn’t appeal to me at all.

The weirdest thing for me is that the bonnet does not extend to the lights so when it is open, there’s a 6 inch strip of metal still at the top of the lights and grill (like in the auto trader article renders). But unlike their renders, the images I have seen have the headlights and front strip much narrower. Also the R badge for R-line is just stuck on to the bodywork at the front.

Also it look like it will be offered with 360 camera (there’s a front camera now, in the grill).

It looks to me as if you will grab the now horizontal latch handle thing and pull the door inward to close. It looks awkward to me but apparently it is final and will not change. I’ve asked for more details.
How about a bit of rope or chain with a wooden ball on the end ... just like you used to find in old lavvies :ROFLMAO::LOL:

The same interior door handle latch mechanism is on the rear doors now as well.

The interior lighting on the door is now a dot matrix style setup. It was red in the images I saw but I’m not sure if that means RGB option or just red for sports models.

Oddly, they have hidden the SOS button behind a latched cover. I imagine it’s a push button mechanism to flip open. Maybe there were frequent instances of owners accidentally pushing the SOS button on prior models. Maybe fumbling for the light switch in the dark.

Edit: there is no new 1.5TSI for euro 7, this was bad info. It will continue as DXD. DWW is a new 2.0TSI engine.

RGB interior lighting confirmed: presets are red, blue, green, yellow and orange but you can also set a custom color.

It may be an optional upgrade or only on higher trim levels.

Interestingly, VW may be ditching its home-rolled infotainment system in favor of something built on the Android operating system. It would certainly simplify development and come with the added benefit of a further layer of security.

It was intended to arrive with the new T-Roc MK2 but I’m told it hasn’t been straightforward to develop.

The other consequence that may come with it being an Android system is rooting 😳 While the prospect of writing my own software for my car is exciting, I can’t help but feel it will only lead to idiots watching YouTube on the motorway 😑

Are you still talking about the new 2025 model 🤔
Nope, it’s a new color for the current face-lifted model. I mentioned it a few months ago, it’s a special trim variant. It’s indium grey but a matt version. Looks sand-blasted. I’ll post more about it as I receive new info.

Its a pity they wouldn't put the last of them out at just under 40k 🤔

I got an email from a leasing company recently with a Golf R 333 black edition at £38k. I’m not gonna lie, I’m still tempted.

I know it’s RRP that affects VED but still, what a price for an R.

I won't buy anything with the £600 road tax, rip off.
I like the new tiguan but it easily slips into the big road tax band, the R-line is now £600.

With rising car prices, especially for EV's and the knock-on effect that has on petrol & diesel cars, the thresholds for the higher car tax rates are now set too low and this is just another tax creep due to frozen allowances and band thresholds.

This is like when they changed the petrol from gallons to litres so when it came to tax rises they put a 1p on a litre like they did with gallons but there are 4.5 litres to a gallon so it went up 4.5p and no one moaned about it!!! except me as I am still moaning about it :ROFLMAO:

Has VW announced when the date for 'last orders' is for the current T-Roc?
I'm just contemplating what to do but don't think I want to wait for the Mk2, based on the problems VW have made with the Tiguan Mk3 (thought they would have learned their lesson with the Golf 8 debacle, but apparently not).

The T-Roc factory will be closed for the holidays between Dec 23rd and Jan 13th so expect a short delay if your order is being built soon.

Just watching a video on your (the UK) new car tax rate rises from April fool's day.
My current R - emission level g/100km 182 (band I) £2190 + £410 premium car tax (because it was worth over £40k) = £2600.
£2600 o_O:eek::censored:
That is 10 times what I pay for what we call "rego", vehicle registration.
We also need to pay around the same amount for compulsory 3rd party insurance (CTP), which provides cover for death and personal injury for the driver in an accident . And your specific vehicle cover insurances are at additional costs.
Rego and CTP are state based fees which allows you the use of the roads. If you are on a government pension then you generally in most states don't even need to pay the registration fee for your main vehicle.

Wow, does the government even whisper a small thank you into your ear when bent over and strapped down over that barrel.

@Stitch The UK R engine states emissions of 191 g/km on the UK volkswagen website making it £3300 for the first year's road tax only.
Worse than your figure 😂

You didn't need to add that £410 to your figure, that comes in for the following years 2, 3, 4, 5 , £190 standard road tax plus £410 for cars over 40K, the road tax cost goes down to standard road tax rate from year 6.
